Christmas is almost upon us again. One minute you think you have ages to get everything organised, then before you know it there's only two weeks and a bit to go. I love Christmas, its all about keeping in touch with people you may not see very often by posting a card, its about buying a present for the special people in your life, its about the food and of course the tree, the lights and the decorations.
I like to have twelve ( or so ) days of Christmas to celebrate not just one on the 25th. We go to a lot of trouble so why not make it last. Starting with the end of year concerts, which are always followed by a bring a plate party and a gift for the teacher. We also get together with different groups of friends and share food and a small gift for each other. Carols by candle light is another event we attend, there is something amazing about a huge gathering of people , all being at the one place for the same reason that makes this night so meaningful. We have a family tradition of travelling to the city to see the Christmas decorations in the shop windows, after that we have dinner somewhere casual. Then there is Christmas Eve, my son and daughter in law have what they call an orphans Christmas for all the friends who live too far away from family for them to visit . Christmas day is still our main day to celebrate with the big lunch and too much to eat and drink. Everyone gets to open there presents the kids are so excited as Santa has finally been, and by mid afternoon everyone is ready for a sleep. Boxing day we pick up Dad and travel to the country to visit with my brother and his family, they prepare a beautiful meal for us and we have a lovely relaxing day in his gardens. My daughters new family are celebrating on the 29th this Christmas and have asked us along too, this is so lovely that they include us, but thats what Christmas is about . Everybody makes that special effort to be with people they care about .
Little Eco have some last minute gift ideas that would delight anyone who has even a tinge of green, or those who just like to save money. Have you seen the TumbleMonkeys or the SoapNuts yet. Perfect for that somebody who has everything, I bet they don't have these. We have natural and organic gifts for babies including gift packs, there are handmade wooden toys and teether's, soft toys , swim nappies and also practical gifts such as BPA free lunch bags and lunch boxes. I like to fill the lunch box or bag with healthy treats like muesli bars an apple and a fruit juice. This serves as breakfast because on Christmas morning things start pretty early when your a kid. I would like to wish every body a really lovely Christmas and I hope you can get twelve days at least of fun and celebration with the ones you love. Merry Christmas!!!!
